Whether you are a visitor or a local resident spend some time on this
walk finding out how the town
developed from nothing more than
a hamlet to become a thriving
seaport exporting coal across the
world to the town it is today With photographs to show you
how it used to be and the stories
behind some of the beautiful buildings find out about pirates,
tunnels, people, ships and much more.
Established to offer people the chance
to discover the town I live in and get to
know some of the history behind
Starting at the Penarth end of the
Cardiff Bay Barrage we will walk through
the marina, then uphill towards the town
taking in spectacular viewpoints.
Discover some of the town's listed
buildings including a Grade 1 listed
church before descending to
the esplanade taking in the pier and
then finishing in the town centre by
walking through the beautiful
Approximately 2 to 3 hours in duration.
This walk will focus on the marina and is a shorter version of the full tour which can be less hilly for those who may prefer a flat walk and also shorter in time being approximately 1 hour in duration.
Walk along the pier and find out how it as changed over the years. Also explore the esplanade and the nearby parks. Approximately 1 hour with lots of places for refreshments.
